October 17 --- (Saturday) Jack Walter will lead a drive through the San Bernardino Mountains.  The drive will go through Horse Thief Canyon, past Silverwood Lake on the way to a scenic picnic near Lake Arrowhead.  Meet at 9:30am at Food For Less, same lot as Krispy Kreme, 1199 Artseia Bl, Gardena.  Departing at 10am sharp. Details in early October.

October 21 --- CONFIRMED Activities Dinner Meeting at NEW EARLIER START TIME

of 6pm, for outdoor dining at The Slice & Pint, 130 W. Grand Ave, El Segundo, 90245.  Masks and social distancing required.  Also, pizza and beer mandatory 😉 Salad options available.

October 28  ---  Run to the new Gerald Desmond bridge in Long Beach

There are two meeting places:

(1) Folks in south bay area - Meet at Food 4 Less parking lot next to Krispy Kreme on Artesia Blvd. Gardena. Meet @10:00 leave @ 10:30.

Head to 91 Freeway take 110 exit south and 405 south. Turn right on to Studebaker Rd. Turn right to 2nd St. one red light pass PCH turn left to Alamitos Bay to San Pedro Fish Market and Grill in Long Beach.

(2) Long Beach area folks - Meet  at San Pedro Fish Market @ 11:00.

Lunch at San Pedro Fish Market and Grill. Ample parking, ample outside tables with social distancing.

Leave to 2nd St. left pass over Naples island turn left at Bay Shore Ave. right to E Ocean Dr. (line up cars) this will merge to E Ocean Dr. left turn to E. Shoreline Dr. then left to Aquarium Way passing the parking structure left behind Aquarium of the Pacific into the parking area for photo op with Queen Mary.

Leave lot to Golden Shore turn left on to Ocean passing over the new bridge and Vicent Thomas bridge.

Stay on 47 to Summerland Ave. turn left to Western Ave south to W. 25th St, right follow to Trump National Golf Course. Public parking lot on the left, photo op.

To return 3 options:

   -  Left on Palos Verdes Dr. S to Torrance.

   -  Right on Palos Verdes Dr. back.

   -  (some twisties) right on Palos Verdes S to Palos Verdes east (left) to PCH

 

LATE FALL --- TENTATIVE Annual Anniversary Picnic and Yard Sale Fundraiser held on a Sunday, date TBA, from 12-3 at Hesse Community Park, 23901 Hawthorne Bl, RPV, 90275.

Nov 14 --- CANCELLED  Ladies’ Luncheon at Ruby’s Diner in Redondo Beach is cancelled
because Ruby’s Diner is now closed permanently. Very sad, indeed.

RESUMING NON-VETTE SET SPONSORED SO CAL ACTIVITIES

2.   Morning Shift Cars & Coffee --- Has not officially resumed.  8am at Porsche Experience            Center, 19800 Main St, Carson 90745.  First Saturday of every month.  All makes, models,        spectators and photographers are welcome.  No entry or registration fee required.                      Free coffee.                                                                                                                              3.   Cruising 50’s --- 2nd Saturday of each month, 2-6pm for pre-1974 cars at Farmer Boys,            near the 110 Freeway & Redondo Beach Bl.                                                                          

4.   Caffeine Cruisers --- RESUMED Every Saturday, 7-10am in Torrance, on SE corner of               Artesia & Hawthorne, between Starbucks & Sizzler.

5.    **NEW!  Manhattan Beach Cars & Coffee -- Meet the last Saturday of the month, from              7:30-10am at "The Point Shopping Center", 850 S. Sepulveda, at the corner of Sepulveda        and Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach. Enter from Rosecrans. Started by two high School            students at Mira Costa HS. Lots of C8s, C7s, and earlier model Corvettes plus a huge              array of other cars including old beaters. FREE!
